​In addition to being a recent and very avid collector of beautiful pottery by some incredible artists, many of which have become friends ♥️, I am also the owner and creator of RVS POTTERY located in Fairfield, CA.  After 25 years at the Oakland Police Department, I retired as a Lieutenant of Police and took up pottery as a way to heal from physical injuries and Post Traumatic Stress.  Discovering my creative side and working with clay has helped to heal my body and soul. It has allowed me to bring beauty into the world and has shown me that although the horrors still exist, there is a way to focus on the positive, to learn new things and grow.  
I do both wheel thrown and hand sculpted pottery that includes multiple types of techniques including carving, sgraffito, silk screen, underglaze, multiple glaze layering and more .  I am primarily self taught but have been fortunate to have taken many online courses from some extremely talented artists.  My current focus is on functional yet beautiful pieces with an emphasis on multiple colors, textures and forms - constantly evolving and trying new things .  My pieces are made to be used and enjoyed. I use white, red and a mix of stoneware clay bodies which I then bisque fire, glaze and then fire again in my electric kiln to cone 6. “
